Peggy Ullom – Volunteer Appreciation Week

Omaha, Nebraska

Peggy Frye-Ullom served for 10 years in the United States Air Force. In November 2015 Peggy discovered “Guitars for Vets” when she was searching for a way to help combat the 22 a day veteran suicide rate. She knew she wanted to share her love of guitar, having known first hand the healing impact the instrument held.

Peggy’s Highlights:

In February 2016, she became a chapter coordinator and instructor,  and started the first chapter in Omaha, Nebraska. Since then she has graduated over 60 veterans through the program, developed a team of 10 instructors, built a vibrant relationship with community partners, formed the band “Heartland Homefront”, and continues to seek out opportunities for public relations and to enlist financial support for the rapidly growing G4V organization.

“Everybody can do something, no matter how big or small, to help others” – Peggy’s personal motto
