The Guitars for Vets Singer-Songwriter Retreat brings Veterans together from different chapters to experience the healing power of music in a collaborative and immersive setting. This opportunity is designed to use music as a form of self- expression, healing, and connection. The retreat provides a unique opportunity for these Veterans to work with professional songwriters and musicians to further develop their songwriting skills and explore the deep emotional connections that music fosters. At the heart of this retreat is the shared experience of four Veterans: one Veteran volunteer and three program graduates, each bringing their own story and musical journey to the experience.
Since 2007, our organization has refined a guitar instruction program aimed at providing Veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD, and other emotional distress a unique therapeutic alternative. G4V pursues its mission to share the healing power of music by providing free guitar instruction, a new acoustic guitar and a guitar accessory kit in a structured program run by volunteers, primarily through the Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and community-based medical centers.
