Learning guitar isn’t always easy—but for Cary, joining Guitars for Vets turned the challenge into something uplifting and fun. Surrounded by fellow Veterans and supportive instructors, Cary found not just music, but a new outlook. Here’s what he had to say about the experience.
“I cannot thank Guitars for Vets enough!!! I have tried to learn how to play guitar several times without committing to it. This class, paired with other Veterans, made it so inviting and comfortable to learn without feeling like a rookie. Every day before class I may have been stressed out about the day at work, then I get to guitar class and my mindset was changed into positivity and creativity. As I learned, I started making music, that inspires me to practice more, as it makes me feel so good! I am playing “Tennessee Whisky” by Chris Stapleton for my besties wedding this Summer, going to be epic! Thank you again”
