Our guest is Nashville Singer/Songwriter Rachel Harvey Hill! She is the wife of a US Air Force A-10 pilot who is now teaching in the US Air Force. Rachel, a military spouse is also a mom, and is inspired by her Kentucky roots with a deep commitment to her faith. Rachel began her love for music as a child and sang with her family and at church, and through a great deal of support and encouragement, she has developed into an exceptional songwriter and vocalist. Through her music Rachel recounts experiences that she and her family have shared throughout their time in the military. As a songwriter, Rachel has been recognized by the Nashville Songwriters Association International as someone to watch having once been selected as a Golden Pick winner. Rachel was also the 2019 winner of the pop/rock category in the New England Songwriters Competition for one of her original songs, “Like Lightning”.
Since 2007, our organization has refined a guitar instruction program aimed at providing Veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD, and other emotional distress a unique therapeutic alternative. G4V pursues its mission to share the healing power of music by providing free guitar instruction, a new acoustic guitar and a guitar accessory kit in a structured program run by volunteers, primarily through the Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and community-based medical centers.
