Welcome to “Song Song True – A Veteran’s View” where we welcome back US Army Iraq War Veteran, Colorado singer/songwriter, and Memphis recording artist Tim Meegan Jr. who appeared on our podcast back in November 2023. Tim shared many of his personal stories and original songs from his album Cook County Country. In this podcast, Tim talks candidly about his musical journey since our last interview including songwriting for his forthcoming album, recording with his band, working with Memphis studio professionals, and applying some of the skills he learned from the US Army in managing challenging situations throughout his journey. Includes live performances of some new songs, and a sneak peak of music from his new album to be released later in 2024.
Since 2007, our organization has refined a guitar instruction program aimed at providing Veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD, and other emotional distress a unique therapeutic alternative. G4V pursues its mission to share the healing power of music by providing free guitar instruction, a new acoustic guitar and a guitar accessory kit in a structured program run by volunteers, primarily through the Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and community-based medical centers.
