STONE PORTICO Free Concert

Sunday, February 12th at 2:00PM, Stone Portico will be in concert at Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, for National Salute Week. This free concert event is for Veterans and friends to honor hospitalized veterans in our VA Hospitals everywhere. We invite you and your friends to attend.

Stone Portico will perform 90 minutes of music including songs from their current recording project for their new CD. Shiloh, the title cut, conveys the message about the human impact and personal cost of war. This song stands apart in their collection, written by Wayne Wilson Williams, BMI.

Wayne Wilson Williams, BMI,  Veteran entertainer, songwriter and recording artist on bass, guitar and vocals.
Eric Stanley  gifted young violinist and music student with the Virginia Commonwealth University.

Peg Andrae, Richmond chapter coordinator of Guitar for Vets, will be present to speak about the G4V initiative and how a small contribution can make a big difference in the restoration of soldiers suffering from PTSD.

Stone Portico supports the Guitars for Vets program and will donate 10% of the proceeds of their Shiloh CD to the G4V program at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in the year 2012.

On Tues, August 23, Guitars For Vets President Dan Van Buskirk and the G4V Adventure Team (all Vets) will be riding mountain bikes through the old outlaw trails out of Telluride in the San Juan Mountain Range. They will be pedaling 215 miles to the bikers capital of the world&Moab, Utah! Joe Ryan of San Juan Huts is sponsoring the trip. The G4V Adventure Team is using this ride to reconnect Vets to nature, and to bring awareness to the Ft. Carson Chapter in Colorado Springs, CO. They will be relaxing at night by playing some wonderful backpacking guitars !!!

Please show your support for this cause - sponsor them per mile for the ride! A quarter = $53.75 A dime = $21.50 Let's all let our wallets show how much we appreciate their sacrifice to our country and to spreading the word about Guitars for Vets.

Concert headliner Tyler Layne will be promoting G4V! Tyler, Virginia's premier teen pop star and teen voice for G4V, will be wearing our logo t-shirt and helping us with fundraising efforts. He has a cousin who just returned from deployment, so our mission is close to his heart. G4V Virginia will have a tent set up from 3:00 - 6:00pm at Virginia Beach Oceanfront 17th Street Park with logo apparel to sell - we'll be on hand to answer any questions and to accept monetary and instrument donations. We will also hold a raffle for a new acoustic guitar and gig bag!

A Salute to the Music of Bob Dylan, August 17 & 20, 2011


Blood on the Tracks Live features many of Minnesota's most talented musicians. Special guest for these performances is Joyce Everson. During the 1970s, Minnesota's Joyce Everson was discovered by Rod Stewart, released an album Crazy Lady on Warner Bros., added unforgettable harmonies to Jackson Browne's masterpiece Late For The Sky and performed on Saturday Night Live. Making her first Twin Cities appearance in 20 years, Joyce joins homegrown Bob Dylan sidemen Billy Peterson and Kevin Odegard, plus musical director Matt Fink, Billy Hallquist, Stan Kipper, Chico Perez, Gary Lopac, Dan Israel, Paul Metsa, Patty Peterson, Scott Sansby, Mark Lamoine, Barry Thomas Goldberg, Gene LaFond, James Loney, The Unknown Idol and more for an evening of Dylan favorites and to raise awareness for Guitars For Vets.

San Diego National Volunteer Week Capstone Service Project and Concert

As part of our National Volunteer Week, The Mission Continues is hosting its Capstone Service Project and Concert on Saturday, April 16th.

There will be live music during the service project to be followed by the Andrew Rosborough concert at 5:00pm. The latest independent musician to hit the scene, Andrew Rosborough has gained fans nationwide with his likeness to Jack Johnson and Ben Harper and original Mid-Western appeal that has been described as smart, edgy and authentic. Born and raised in Indiana, his sound is very American and blends rock ballad tempos, pop lyrics and a country attitude that is soothing to the ears.

Tickets cost $10. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards the service project and gift packages for deserving youth organizations. Click here for more details.
